Supporting youth-led social change
We’re thrilled to announce that GFC and the Avast Foundation have launched the Spark Fund, a new fund to support youth-led and youth-focused groups around the world! Through a participatory grantmaking process, regional youth panels will make funding decisions using a unique technology platform. Learn more about the Spark Fund and how you can get involved.
Working together to empower girls
In April 2020, GFC launched the Ending Violence, Empowering Girls initiative to support a network of six women- and youth-led organizations in West Africa. These groups are addressing the root causes of violence against girls by empowering adolescent girls to advance their rights. Find out what they had to say about the initiative and how it has impacted their work.
How we find our partners
One of the things that makes GFC unique is the way we find and connect with the community-based organizations that become our partners. In this blog post, Rodrigo Barraza García explains GFC’s approach to scouting, which sets the foundation for trust-based relationships. Read Rodrigo’s reflections on meeting prospective partners, including a recent trip to Guatemala to visit a network of young artists and activists.
GFC does not support local offices or affiliates of international organizations, or efforts to support or oppose candidates for public office. We do not support evangelism or proselytizing, or programs that require adherence to or conversion to religious doctrine; organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation; or groups that support violent activities or violate criminal law.
Global Fund for Children (GFC) UK Trust, created in 2006, is a UK registered charity (UK charity number 1119544). We work to generate vital income, create new fundraising opportunities, and raise awareness of the invaluable work of GFC’s grassroots grantees. Our aim is to extend the reach of GFC in the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
