Extending wellbeing to children’s education

Children participating in a meditation and mindfulness activity.

Peace for People (P4P), a GFC partner in Nepal, is furthering children’s education in a unique way – by prioritizing their wellbeing. The organization recently launched a mindfulness, meditation, and yoga practice for schoolchildren to enhance both their physical health and their emotional wellbeing. As part of GFC’s Partnership to Educate All Kids (PEAK) initiative, which is supported by the LEGO Foundation, P4P is working to change the conventional teaching/learning approach to make education more fun and appealing. Learn more about P4P’s innovative teaching methodologies such as storytelling, sports, and the focus on wellbeing.

⭐️ Over the past few months, GFC and our partners have further explored play-based learning through PEAK convenings across Colombia, India, and Uganda. Follow us on social media and get inspired.

Nurturing youth-led activism

Eduardo, a youth leader supported by GFC's Spark Fund.

GFC’s Spark Fund, supported by Avast, is a youth-led fund that invests in youth-led and youth-focused groups tackling important social issues. In June, 28 youth leaders from 14 Spark Fund grassroots organizations – each pursuing different types of activism, including promoting the rights of trans youth, building awareness around food security, and providing mental health support to children – came together in Colombia to share their work. Find out more about their shared passion for activism, the challenges they face, and reflections on the support they need to create social change.

Our newest Board members

GFC's four new Board members.

We recently welcomed four new members to our governing Boards. James Cain, Maulik Doshi, and Joan Lombardi joined GFC’s Global Board of Directors, and Sonal Sachdev Patel joined the UK Trust Board of Trustees. Their contributions are an integral part of our work to advance the rights and opportunities of children and youth around the world. Meet our new Board members here.

⭐️ We are excited to share that we will be launching GFC’s official TikTok next month! Stay tuned for more info and some engaging content from GFC’s youth leaders!
