Peer counseling by young people in Ukraine
It has been one year since Russia invaded Ukraine, and young Ukrainians haven’t stopped lending their voices and hands to those affected. Amidst power outages and other wartime hardships, GFC partner Teenergizer is continuing to offer peer counseling sessions to teenagers and provide vital support to youth living with HIV. Launch of youth-led climate action initiative
This month, GFC launched a youth-led climate resilience fund in Southeast Asia, one of the world’s most at-risk regions for the impacts of climate change. The Southeast Asia Climate Spark Fund will empower youth-led climate action in Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, placing key funding decisions in the hands of young people. We’re happy to introduce you to Ramanou Babaedjou, GFC’s Capacity Development Specialist for Côte d'Ivoire and Guinea. From identifying separated and unaccompanied Liberian children to promoting child protection and women’s empowerment, he brings years of sector experience into his new role.
