In the remote areas of Uganda where Foundation for Inclusive Community Help (FICH) operates, children and youth often lack access to education, health care, and technology. This GFC partner recently built a multi-purpose community center to help address these issues, and it’s taking other steps to empower the communities it serves. Learn more about FICH’s work in this video interview with Founder and Executive Director Emmy Zoomlamai.
Children and youth share their pandemic experiences
Few generations have experienced the level of disruption young people have faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. GFC staff asked the kids in our lives, as well as some of the young people who participate in our local partners’ programs, to tell us about their experiences. Read what they had to say about getting through a difficult year and their hopes for a post-pandemic world.
GFC does not support local offices or affiliates of international organizations, or efforts to support or oppose candidates for public office. We do not support evangelism or proselytizing, or programs that require adherence to or conversion to religious doctrine; organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation; or groups that support violent activities or violate criminal law.
Global Fund for Children (GFC) UK Trust, created in 2006, is a UK registered charity (UK charity number 1119544). We work to generate vital income, create new fundraising opportunities, and raise awareness of the invaluable work of GFC’s grassroots grantees. Our aim is to extend the reach of GFC in the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
