Grassroots Review, your link to empowering children and youth worldwide.
In April, GFC is launching a month of virtual events honoring the courage and resilience of community-based organizations changing children’s lives. Our 2021 Celebration of Courage Campaign will kick off with virtual galas in the United Kingdom and the United States, feature a global conversation on education during the COVID-19 pandemic, and culminate with the announcement of the 2021 Juliette Gimon Courage Awards. Learn more about the events and register to attend.
From children's club to equal partner
Before partnering with GFC, Children’s Forum Network had successfully confronted child abuse cases, run radio shows, and hosted workshops in Kenema, Sierra Leone. But despite its achievements, the youth-led organization struggled to secure consistent funding, office space, and other key resources. Now, CFN-Kenema has its own office and its own policies to ensure continued success. Read more about CFN-Kenema’s evolution and its goals for the future.
Collaborating to keep people safe
We’re thrilled to announce that GFC and four other grantmaking institutions have joined forces to create the Funder Safeguarding Collaborative. This new initiative supports global efforts to prevent abuse and exploitation, fostering collaboration, listening, and learning among funders and local civil society organizations. Find out more about the FSC and how you can get involved.
GFC does not support local offices or affiliates of international organizations, or efforts to support or oppose candidates for public office. We do not support evangelism or proselytizing, or programs that require adherence to or conversion to religious doctrine; organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation; or groups that support violent activities or violate criminal law.
Global Fund for Children (GFC) UK Trust, created in 2006, is a UK registered charity (UK charity number 1119544). We work to generate vital income, create new fundraising opportunities, and raise awareness of the invaluable work of GFC’s grassroots grantees. Our aim is to extend the reach of GFC in the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
