Meet our newest GFC partners!
We’re excited to welcome five new partners to our global network of change-makers. Based in Croatia, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Thailand, these organizations are promoting girls’ health and rights, supporting migrant and refugee children, and helping young people live free from violence and exploitation. Read more about their work in this blog.
Trust truly local leadership
As governments, development organizations, and other funders grapple with how to support children during and after the pandemic, GFC President and CEO John Hecklinger argues that they must provide grassroots groups with the necessary resources to continue their vital work. In this op-ed, John explains why it’s so important to ensure that local organizations can continue to operate and work toward long-term systemic change.
Meet GFC’s newest Global Ambassador
We’re thrilled to announce that 12-year-old Omari McQueen, the UK’s youngest award-winning vegan chef, has joined GFC as a Global Ambassador and patron. “I am happy to be joining GFC because GFC cares about young people like me,” Omari said. “I want everyone to be given the same opportunities and to have an education and live their dreams. We all deserve a chance.” Meet Omari – and learn more about why he’s excited to champion GFC.
GFC does not support local offices or affiliates of international organizations, or efforts to support or oppose candidates for public office. We do not support evangelism or proselytizing, or programs that require adherence to or conversion to religious doctrine; organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation; or groups that support violent activities or violate criminal law.
Global Fund for Children (GFC) UK Trust, created in 2006, is a UK registered charity (UK charity number 1119544). We work to generate vital income, create new fundraising opportunities, and raise awareness of the invaluable work of GFC’s grassroots grantees. Our aim is to extend the reach of GFC in the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
